KAIST Mobility Institute has launched in the Naepo New Town in South Chungcheong Province. On the 13th Nov 2024, the South Chungcheong provincial government announced that the KAIST Mobility Research Institute held its opening ceremony at the Naepo Knowledge Industry Center and has officially begun its research activities.
The ceremony was attended by about 300 people, including Governor Kim Tae-heum of South Chungcheong Province, KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung, Hongseong County Mayor Lee Yong-rok, and other key figures in the mobility field, where they shared the institute's vision and goals.
The Naepo KAIST Mobility Research Institute is located at the Naepo Knowledge Industry Center in Hongseong County and will focus on research and support for the development of advanced mobility technologies and startups. The institute has set up laboratories and office spaces for companies, and operations have begun with a team of seven staff members, which is expected to expand to 11 by next year.
